Hi,
Can anyone suggest an answer to this,
I have just installed IIS on my windows xp pro. The problem is when I type http://127.0.0.1 - http://127.0.0.1 or http://localhost - http://localhost it can take up to 5 minutes and then it says

HTTP 500.100 - Internal Server Error - ASP error
Internet Information Services

Active Server Pages, ASP 0113 (0x80004005)
The maximum amount of time for a script to execute was exceeded. You can change this limit by specifying a new value for the property Server.ScriptTimeout or by changing the value in the IIS administration tools.

What I'm after is speeding it up so pages load or load quickly! I thought PWS was slow but IIS on my machine sucks!!! Or is it the general feeling?

Guido

No problems here.

Try reinstalling IIS.

Hi Bunce,

I've un-intsalled & re-installed a couple of times.
But the same each time. Very slow to load or the error message appears.

what are your machine specs?
what processes are running in task manager?
anything strange in your logs?

try making a simple test page and see if that runs OK.

Try installing service pack 1 on it, it could solve the problem.

IIRC, the default install of xp pro doesn't have http, smtp, or ftp enabled ??? I seem to remembers having to open up the system management console and setting up iis there.
