Is it possible to have detailed information of traffic that is going through iis? I would like to know how much bandwidth is used by certain pages and where users are coming from + possibly if it's direct-linked traffic or not.

IIS has its own logs, although you'd need a log viewing utility to make sense of it.

There are other web stat applications out there.  Search google and you'll find heaps.

Cheers,

Andrew

The biggest problem with most web stat applications is to sort the data the way you want it. If you have SQL Server, install Analysis Services and go to databasejournal.com there is a two part tutorial on building a Web Log Analysis Cube. With some added info to your requirement you can get nice reports out.

Yeah I read that also - interesting article.

Michael, have you got into Analysis Services much?  I recently had to convert some data to cubes for a Cognos Powerplay front-end, and found it quite nifty. Has never used it before that. MS is definitely making inroads in the BI area.

Cheers,
Andrew

I am big into Cognos PP actually. We are Cognos partner so I am architechting models and reports sometimes. It is very nice stuff, now with ReportNet which came out even nicer. I personally find Analysis services not as good as the front end straight out stinks. I am anxiously waiting for SQL Server Reporting Services though. (Beta hopefully this year)
