I need the ability to notify all registered users, by email, when anything is posted to my forum.  This option also needs to be selected for each user.  Our users don't check the forum very often and need to now when something has been added.  Some will want to be notified for all changes to the forum and others for only specific areas.  Is this option available?  If not, can you suggest how I can do this.  I'm using the SQL version of the forum.

If your users want to be notified when anything is posted in a forum, then they will need to click on the 'Watch this forum for new posts' link at the bottom of the forum, just above the forum jump box. If you want to contact each member then, if your host allows mass emailing, there is a function in the Admin menu allowing you to do this.

I don't believe the above reply solves the problem.  The problem:  a registered user posts something to the forum and then the forum automatically checks each registered users profile to determine which users want to be notified when any posts are made to the forum.  The forum then emails those users the subject of the post.  This is required because our users only login if something has been added that they have an interest.

Well, if they click the 'Watch This Forum For New Posts' link like I suggested for each forum they want to be told about, then this would happen. I don't see what the problem is...
