Well, 1st of all thank you -boRg- for this awesome forum. I think it rocks and it's helping me keeping in touch with a lot of m8s I met online and I thought I would never meet again.

I have some suggestions for forum improvement, basicalli features "leeched" from other forums that I think would be nice to see them on WebWizForum. Here we go:

• I noticed that in beta 3 you still do not have a "Subject" for topic replies. Is there any reason? Is it a precise choice? Most forums have them and it would be nice to have it here too.
• Would be nice to have a "Topic Icon" as well (smiley, question mark, exclamation mark etc). Again, most "pro" forums have it and I find it quite useful.
• Optional threaded view in topics would be cool too. When topics reach a large number of posts it's difficoult to find out who is replying who. Both replies subjects and threaded view (or a message header saying "In reply to ..." in threaded view is too complex) should help.

Btw, I am testing v7 beta 3 but found no bugs so far...

1) I've never understood why they have a subject field!  You are (should be) replying to the initial poster's thread, and therefore that subject ONLY.  One of the worst things people do is change topic during a thread or hijack another thread.

2) Could be an option, however I find that in larger forums they rarely get used anyway and people end up ignoring them.

3) Threaded view would be nice but I don't understand your reasoning... Anyone in a thread is replying to the initial post (well the previous post anyway). That's the way they are ordered.  You can't reply to a post that is in the middle of a thread....

A thread can become really hard to read. Threaded view and changing subjects can help a lot in reading the thread and how it evolved. I agree that OffTopics are hateful, but allowing "post subject" does not increase or affect OTs IMO. Thread subject will always be the one the author decided.

Doh, why can't I reply "a post that is in the middle of a thread"? There are plenty of examples where you actually have to do that. A thread is something dynamic; users access the thread when they have time to look at the forum. Users now reply "quoting" the post they want to answer to, but that can be avoided most of the times with a threaded view.

I can live without these changes anyway (and I will surely do that if I am the only one askin for them lol).

In some boards they are very necessary!

Hard to read??  What do you mean? You just said yourself that the thread subject is the one the Author decided, so why change?  Do you mean a summary of whats in the post or something?

Thread subject and post subject are different. Thread subject will always be the one the original poster decided. Post subject helps introducing the reply.

Threaded view helps keeping track of the evolution of thread discussion.

Agree they both can be optional but my forums would have gr8 benefit from both features.
