Hi!

I've been administrating a WWForum for some weeks now, and I always had a problem with new users who couldn't login without changing the Privacy settings within IE 6 (to Low) or adding a "trusted site" with my domain name and the "Always Allow" setting.

Of course, people got used to that and everything went fine... Until now. One of the users is following courses in a University, but the problem is that students can't access the IE 6 preferences at all, which means that this user just can't connect to my forum as he's getting a "Sorry, only members........."

Any ideas?

If you do a search on login on this forum there are 100's of posts on this subject.

But, if you connect deirectly to the site and don't use IP masking, domain forwarding, etc. to connect to the forum then your users should not have to change their IE settings to low.

For security reasons IE and other browsers are setup not to allow cookies to be read and set by third party sites, by using domain masking, IP masking, forwarding, etc. the browser sees the site as a thrid party site and has trouble setting and reading back in cookies.

That's EXACTLY the case! Thank you very much! I'll ask my user not directly connect to the right domain!

Thanks a lot! And... well... congrats for that cool job!!
