Just downloaded the forum application this morning, very impressed so far, easy to install. However I have recived the following errors:

Microsoft VBScript compilation error '800a0400'

Expected statement

/discuss/forum/admin/change_admin_username.asp, line 163

With rsCommon
^
and on these pages

/discuss/forum/admin/date_time_configure.asp, line 88
/discuss/forum/admin/email_domain_blocking.asp, line 77
/discuss/forum/admin/ip_blocking.asp, line 78

The problem is invoked when the With statement is reached on each of these pages.

My database file has been moved to a location on my server where the permissions are correct for read/write access, my other ASP database files are in this location and are functioning.

I have modified both of the common.asp pages to point to the database in it's new location with a relative path this has enabled me to login sucessfully, most of the admin pages are available but it won't let me create a forum, all of the forum related pages throw up this error.

Any advice will be welcome.

Most errors are coursed by corrupted files try reuploading all the files again.

Also make sure that you are using a Microsoft IIS 4+ web server on Windows NT4 sp4+, 2000, 2003, or XP Pro, other web servers are not supported by this software.

Yep, done that. This is a test installation on my local Intranet server, an NT4 Server SP6 unit.

Make sure you have the latest VB scripting engine installed (I think it's version 5) on your machine. Installing IE 5+ will install this for you.

If this still doen't work and all the pages using the 'With' property are throwing up an error then it lloks like some cofiguration on your machine is making the software incompatible and you may have to look for another solution. Try http://www.aspin.com - www.aspin.com for some forum software that maybe compatible with your machine.

Ah! That'll be the fix! This server was our PDC for a long time so we never got around to upgrading IE from 4 SP2 because of the downtime needed and no percived need to carry out that upgrade.

Will do that tonight.

Thanks

Yep, IE 6 upgrade has fixed all the VB issues that I have encountered so far. It was just one of those things we had not got around to doing, when a server is at the core of a network rebooting just for an IE upgrade does not seem a high priority. Of course one forgets how many things can rely upon IE these days!

Thanks for the help.
