I'm attempting (attempting, as my design skills aren't up to much) to change the default look of Web Wiz Fourms.

I'm trying out some new graphics and colours on the forum on this site, if you could give me some feedback it would be much appreciated.

Looks better, but now the hyperlink colors don't match the color scheme...

If this is what your going to go for, i would consider changing the gray look of the buttons to a light blue or purple shade. I also aggree with KCWebMonkey, you should change the link colors.

Yeah I like the forum look, but I dont know about purple on grey and green (the main site).

Maybe if you changed the main site to purple and blues it would look cool!

yeah, i'm with that too, the grey, purple, and green conflict too much. In fact, that's the first thing i said, "Oh, look changes, that looks weird with the main site..."

I have noticed that the two colours do clash, I may make it so that the forum opens in a separate window as it does look much better on it's own outside of the surrounds of this site. Unless I can find a colour to change the top of the main site to that fits both the rest of the site and the new look to the forum.

I've gone off the purple colour scheme now, I'm going to work on a different colour scheme, but so I haven't wasted my time I will release this purple one as a skin for the next version of the forum.

Looking good at the moment. One suggestion: change the white background of the title image (web_wiz_forums.gif) to transparent so it blends in with the background.
Edit: Adding a 1px (black / other dark colour) border around it would look good as well.

I think Bruce should start looking at new colours for the whole site :)

I think if you made the site greener it would look cool.

Dont get me wrong, the site looks really clean and nice, but the grey is a bit too neutral if you know what I mean.

I have set up a site with version 7.5 alpha with both the purple skin and the green skin so you can judge for yourself which skin would be better as the default skin for Web Wiz Forums.

http://www.beta.webwizforums.com - www.beta.webwizforums.com

Both forums run off the same Access database so you only need to post in one or the other for it to be displayed in both forums.

Let me know which one you think is best as the defualt skin colour.

Hi Borg,

First reply to a post.

I have great problems with colours as I am colour blind, but if you go here http://www.color-wheel-pro.com/ - www.color-wheel-pro.com/  you can download a shareware application that may be useful

I prefer the purple one aswell, but I think you should have the option of classic, green and purple like on maddogs site. No offence but the green one gives me a headache

I think they are great options.  I personally like blue, which is one of the reasons why I installed the Invision blue colored skin.

But different people have different tastes, and it's great to give users multiple choices.

Will the new version give users the ability to pick what skin they want (from the ones installed by the admin, of course)?  phpBB does that, although I've noticed that most admins only install the original subSilver and give no other choices.
