Hi!

I've got a problem with the forum. If i want to post a message, there are some things:

  • on the Server the script-debugger starts and all scripts are blocked
  • on the clientside a errormessage appears. I cant post this message, because i'm running an IE in german language, but i can tell you the error code: 80040e21. This is a database failure!

What can i do??? Please help me. It is important, that the Forum works tomorrow!!!!

thank you, Donald

Your site allowed me to sign up and nothing more. Trying to post timed out and so did preview.

Sorry but I have no idea other than to blame your server since there are thousands of copies of WebWiz live on the internet.

As this is a database problem, it maybe worth trying to install the latest MDAC drivers on the server. You can get them from http://www.microsoft.com/data - www.microsoft.com/data

The MDAC drivers that I linked to are for Acess as well.

There is nothing different between before the installation and after the installation of the MDAC drivers, except that the script debugger is online and i can't turn it off.

What should i do??

You obviously have configuration issues with your server, you really need to read up on IIS or you could be leaving your machine wide open to attack.

First have a look at the documentation that comes with IIS, if you need to read more have a look on Microsh*tes official site.

only for explanation: My username before was donald!

OK. I've tried some things, but the forum doesent work in the right way.
If i do nothing in this forum for a longer time (lets say 1 or 2 days) then i can post a message one time. If i try a second time, directly after posting the first time, i get this error.

To the configuration: I have a Web Wiz Forum v 6.0 and this forum works perfectly. But with the new one, i hav only probs.

Pleas help me. Im not sure, if its my server or if it is the skript!

OK, i've found one problem:

If you turn the active users list on then there are failures (version 7.5):

Microsoft JET Database Engine- Failure '80004005'

File 'F:\WINNT\system32\tblActiveUser.mdb' not found.

/forum_newer/includes/active_users_inc.asp, line 85

and ive found another problem:

The problem with the error 80040e21 is because the database, which were generated from a databes out of the version 6.x, converted with the database converter, works not right with the skripts. Maybe the database converter is bad!

Version 7.5 beta is just that a beta version and does contain bugs, the one you mention with the active users table is one of the known bugs.

You should not use beta versions on a live web site for this very reason. Please use the last stable release version 7.01.

Also make sure you compact and repair both databases before and after convertion when using the 6 to 7 migration tool to prevent errors in the database.

Use the 'Compact and Repair' tool found in the tools menu in Access.
