If you open it with Access 2000 or above it should work ok. It should then allow you to change the value

If email notify is on can you not just request it?

I think that is his problem here. It would appear that he has been hacked. The passwords are really long "just a whole bunch of numbers" so I guess someone must have gotten it and changed something in his db

The passwords are encrypted.

The only way to get the password is to do a lost password request.

Could you do this:

  • Create a new account with the password you want to use.
  • Go into the database, and copy the encryted password of the user you just created to the password field of the Admin account.
  • Try logging in to the Admin account with that password.

In theory, depending on how it encrypts it, you might be able to log in.

Also, a word of advice.  Have more than one Admin account, one that is not obvious.

For example, I never login using the main Admin account.  I use an account I created with Admin rights.  If one gets trashes, I still have the other.
