hi, i have a few ladder groups that all work fine, except for the first one. when the user has posted twenty times they should be moved up into the second group, but that never happens and i have to do it manually.

has anyone else encountered a similar problem?

Do a re-sync post count, it worked fine when I tested it so I don't think ther is any problem with the code.

Make sure your ladder groups are setup correctly.

Also the user is not moved up till they make a post, so if you change the ladder system the user will not be moved to the correct ladder group till after they have made a post.

i'm still having this problem. i've added another group now, so that the user gets a 2nd star when they hit ten posts, but again that doesn't kick in and i have to update them manually. the thrid group kicks in at 50 posts and that works fine, as do all the groups after that...

i did a re-sync post count but it hasn't helped.

hi, sorry to bring this up again, but i was hoping someone else might have further ideas about this? i've upgraded to the latest forum and moved to a new location with all the correct files, it seems to be set up ok but still i have to manually move people to the 2nd ladder group after their tenth post, and the forum's gotten quite big so it takes up a lot of time. has anyone else encountered this problem? thanks again!

I still believe that the problem is in your settings as no-one else is experincing this.

Make sure that your starting group is part of the ladder system, if it is not members will not change groups when they get to a certain number of posts.

Groups that are not set as part of the ladder system will be exempt from your ladder system.

thanks, my first group wasn't set as a ladder group, so hopefully that will solve the problem. i really appreciate the help. em.
