Ok, I'm new with this.  I am trying to add this to a FrontPag2003 web I've already created.  I added the folder 'forum' to my web, and uploaded it.

I'm a little confused as to what happens after that point.  Maybe its late and I'm just missing something.  If I try to go to that folder on the web, I get a 403 error.

So what am I doing wrong, and what's the next step?

Thanks very much!!!

Steve

Mmmmm

Well, you could tell us what version your using, is it on IIS and what error are you getting (403 means nowt to me). Link to the site so we can see for ourselves.

Help us to help you, give us some info to work with..

Ok, I'm using v7.01.  It is on a IIS server, using frontpage extensions (if that helps).

I get a 'not authorized to view this page' error.  Probably because I'm unsure to the next step in the process.

Web is at http://www.scootervilleusa.com - http://www.scootervilleusa.com

Due to the extensions that Frontpage sets on your web space you will need to upload using Frontpage to keep the FP extensions intact.

The problem then is that FP may change files in the forum. So there is no garantee you can setup WebWizForums on a site if you have FP extensions and in my exeperince it is very difficult to get ASP applications like this running on a site with FP extensions installed.

So, what would be the next step, do you think?  I realize that it may not work, but I'd still like to try.  If the folder is copied over to my IIS server using frontpage, where do I go from there?  How do I get into the configuration?

The simplest way is to dumb FP extensions from your site.

I've been using frontpage and have had no problems other than a couple thinss gettings messed up in the code (which was easily fixed), and usually they were comment lines.

The no authorization might be that when fp uploaded the files the folder /forum/ did not obtain the iusr_ nt group permissions. I've had that happen to me, and i just logged in and reset the permissions. Good luck.
