I accidently deleted my admin account on my newly activated web wiz forum. My web address is: http://www.marveltcg.net/forums/ |
Now I can no longer make changes. How can I readd my admin account? Do I need to reinstall everything over again? Replies:

Too bad. I'm new too but I think no choice! Next time, create another admin acct for yourself besides the official one. That is what I did. |

Hello Bluehottie By the way, do you know why I keep getting forum login problem (error 500) because cannot open the database. I'm using win2000 server IIS and already install MDAC 2.8, already grant the database folder and the database itself to read AND write to IUSR_ acct as instructed. It works few days then error again. How can U install it correctly? I read and read and read but haven't found the right answer and people yell at me "If U read the Docs"! That's why I just ask you, at least U get it run! Thanks |

chinguyen you should've started another topic for that but a possible cause for that is that IIS is not running under the IUSR account, in that case giving IUSR read/write permissions to the database won't help, you got to give whatever account IIS is running under access to the database. To find who's account IIS is running under go to your website properties, "Directory Security" tab, and click on the edit button under "Annonymous Access Authentication Control", then click the edit button again under "Annonymous Access", there you will see which account IIS is running under, you can either change it to IUSR (recommended) or give that user read/write permissions to your database folder. bluehottie I know it's too late but you could've opened your database and create the admin account again, you would've had to stop that identity increment thing first in order to do that, another solution would've been to just create another admin account on the database, i think that might even be safer as hackers usually try to find exploits to become the 1st user on the database as it usually is the admin, but anyways I don't think it can be done with this forum... |
