Hi - I was wondering if anyone would like to offer an opinion on this...

Is it more efficient to keep multiple applications in separate Access databases, or is it better to combine tables of different applications into a single database file?

The weasel answer is... it depends.

Server configuration, connection type, and application usage have a lot to do with it, but in general, separate access db's seem to perform better for me.

Although, if a single db was faster, I probably wouldn't go for it anyway. Application maintenance, development, and trouble shooting is easier with separate db's. Not to mention that if my one db goes south, all my apps would be dead.

Lead me not into temptation... I know the short cut, follow me.
