The webwiz forums doesn't seem to work properly with Safari
for Mac OS X. When trying to post this message, a blank page
appears on the page where i should normally get the "post new
topic" page.

The download version will work fine in Safari but you need to disable the WYSIWYG post
editor as Safari likes to try and indentify istelf as using the Gecko
engine when it doesn't.
This has been resolved for the next release that will be out in the next few weeks.
The reason for it not showing correctly on this site is that by
intergarting it with the rest of this site so many tables are used
Safari can't cope with the table rendering process.
I have had emails recently from poeple who use Web Wiz Forums on Mac
related sites who say that they have many people using the forum who
use the Safari browser without problem.

Is this "next release" the 7.5 version of the forum, or is it a
newer version?
I disabled the WYSIWYG editor and i'm still seeing blank pages
when i use Safari. Could you post a link to a Mac webwiz forum
here plz? I'd like to find out if i can see that forum correctly.

Why not just use a btter browser like Mozilla nearly all sites work in
it under Mac, unlike Safari which has problems with a gerat many sites.

I'll second that - Safari's not too great at the moment. A new version
will be bundled in with OS X 10.3 which I should imagine will be
available to everyone else too once that's out on Friday.

Yup, and it's a bit crap at some things... it's improving though.
By the way borg, in the active users list on WWF I show up as using
Netscape 6 when I'm using Mozilla (not Firebird, I have problems with
it).
Could you tell me how to fix that please, or is there no way to differentiate between Mozilla and Netscape?
Cheers.

I'm using Mozilla 1.4 and it's in the current version of WWF - if you
read this while I'm still mooching about on the forum, have a look at
the AU list.
If it's any help, my User Agent shows up as:
Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; PPC Mac OS X Mach-O; en-US; rv:1.4) Gecko/20030624

I can't see any reason why it is not detecting yopur browser as Mozilla.
If you have been using the site with another browser and then return in
under 20 minutes it will not update it's detection of which browser you
are using.
Try comming back to the site later and see if you are detected as using Mozilla.

That doesn't help I'm afraid. I've been using Mozilla for a few weeks
now - on this forum and on a WWG forum which I admin - I show up as
Netscape 6 on both.
It's no big deal, to be honest. Just thought I'd point it out.
