Just a quick question, I have been looking at doing some web programming, and I am thinking of the ASP route,I have only recently started to learn this. I was wondering, should i really bother with ASP, or should I go direct to ASP.NET instead.

ASP.net is harder but it is a lot better in my opinion, just doa google for asp vs asp.net and you will get 1000s of reasons why asp.net is better.
