The javascript for the adding of emaoticons on the non RTE box takes what is already written and adds the emoticon code to the end. The bold, italic buttons do the same.

My OS: windows server 2003; and I have tested this problem on these browsers: ie6, myie2, sleipnir, greenbrowser . I typed some letter and figures ,then I add some emoticons on the left side panel, I noticed that this problem ONLY occured in GreenBrowser... And I think it is quite possible that GreenBrowser have something in supporting this new Javascript RTE editor. By the way, the old non-WYSIWYG works quite well on GreenBrowser.

Greenbrowser is not a common browser. Therefore it is not supported

GreenBrowser like Avant and a few others is using the IE engine intsalled on your machine so can't see why it won't work.

They might as well be IE skins that add a bit more functionality to IE. As I don't like IE and all it's quirks I don't really like these IE based browsers either.

Why not try some of the better browers around like Mozilla Firebird, Mozilla, or Opera.

Just now , I tested this prob in Sleipnir, and the chance of characters got cleared is slimmer than GreenBrowser, but it still some times exists. I noticed a strange things: when I typed something and insert an emoticon, SOMETIMES the typing cursor went to the beginning of the whole textarea, but the emoticon code was successfuly inserted. After that, if I type more, the coming letter will be at the the very beginning. Does the new non-RTE post editor do something new with the handling of focus?

The non-RTE editor hasn't been changed since version 6.
