i have been having a Webwiz forum for the last 2 months and it was perfect until today when i noticed it is bladdy slow and lot of members are complaining becos it is slow

can any one tell me why it is getting slow

It could be the size of the access database. Or it could be your webhost.

i am using a SQL database and the other site i have with the same host and using SQL database is still okay with the speed

no change at all

but the memberlist has now acceeded to over 500

can this be the problem

how large is the database total? how many active users do you have at any given time?

database maybe failry large but its only 2 months since i started this forum and active users are at 15 - 20 average

Ok there are several reasons this may be happening. Seeing as how thousands of people use WWF, I doubt the problem is there.

I suggest contacting your host. The most likely source of the low performace is a saturated web server or database server. If you run your site on a budget host you may be shareing your web server with a few hundered other sites, the same goes for the database server. Any one or more of these sites may be using more than thier fair share of server resources causing your site and all other sites to grind to a halt. The host should be able to tell right away what the resource constraint is.

I suggest bugging the sh*t out of your host to find out what the resource limitation is. And if they are not able to answer that question to your satisfaction, change hosts.
