first, let me say I LOVE your forum. it's perfect, flawless...despite my inadequacy to log in.

i know the username is administrator and the password is letmein but for some reason, it's just not letting me log in. I've tried a capital A as well in the username, just in case it is case sensitive.

I'm using access db and the 7.5 version (just downloaded it today) - uploaded it without changing any skins to make sure I could get around knowing I hadn't messed around with any code, and still can't manage to get in...

any ideas?? it's just a simple family website but this would be a pivotal piece of communication with us (my family is scattered all over)

Look this up it is a cookie problem that has been anwsered many, many, many, many, times.

Actually, I searched the forum as I thought it would be quicker than posting here... cookies are enabled, cleared cache and everything...but doesn't let me in.

do you have the previous version still available for download? I had tried that and it worked but then my hard drive died (this was like last week - and no i was dumb and didn't yet create the backup - was waiting to go live with my site) -

The way cookies are set and read back in have not changed since version 1.

Make sure that session variables are enabled on your browser.

Also make sure you connect deirctly to your site otherwise brossers can't set cookies correctly eg. No URL masking, IP masking, domain forwarding, frames, etc.

this is odd...

i went into overwriting IE settings to accept third party cookies and first party cookies and allowed sesson cookies as well (finally found it) - then cleared the cache, everything, closed IE down, reopened and it still won't let me in...

if it matters to mention - I can create a new user and then log off and log on as him successfully. it's only the admin area that i'm having difficulty with

okay, I hope the creator of this forum isn't upset, I still think he did an awesome job, but as I couldn't get around this problem, here's what I did...

I found the previous version of the forum I had used once before (thought I had lost it) - and just replaced the admin folder and all it's contents, including subfolders. So, the users still get the look and feel of the upgrades to this new forum and the backend admin section works for me.

i have no idea why or what i was doing wrong, but it worked for me, so maybe, Kulu, it will work for you :)

I think he has done a great job too. I'm sure there's a really simple way to fix this, but I know nothing about ASP.

I just uploaded mine and got the same error when trying to log in to the Admin site. Here is what I did that seemed to work. I logged into the forum area, then changed to the Admin folder and clicked the link "already logged in". This seemed to have worked. I am not sure why I had to do this.
