Subject: Email forum activation error

I turned the email notification for new forum members on - and the email sent fine, but when I click on the link in the email, I get a "Page cannot be displayed" error.  Do I have to do something "special" to get this to work? The parameters for the user ID are passing in the URL and everything else has worked just fine, and the only changes I've made are to the skin file.

Anyone have any advice?

Thanks!

Have a look at the URL in the post. Is it correct?

You need to enter the correct URL path to your forum in the admin area.

Thanks for the reply, boRg!

Yes, the URL in my admin area is correct, and the page "activate.asp" is in the proper directory. I can get to that page using the URL in my admin area, but when the "?ID=IDGOESHERECA53E5FDZ1" parameter is passed, it comes up "Page cannot be displayed" (500-Internal Server Error).

Am I missing some permission on a directory/file somewhere or something?

Thanks!

BTW - it's not just the activation email where I get this problem - when I tested sending a thread to someone via email, I get the same error when that person tries to click on the link in their email.

Any clues? Anyone?

Maybe the upload component is not installed correctly. What type of ser and hosting do you have?

Turn off friendly HTTP error messages in IE so you get what the actual error is, this will help workout your problem.
