I couldn't find anything when I did a search for this item, so don't know if it's not been discussed, or maybe it's a dumb question.

When I send a PM to a user, and check that I want a read confirmation, I get an e-mail notification saying I have read the message that I sent myself when I view the message in my PM Outbox. (Which of course I did not send to myself, but another user.)

I have two questions on that:

1) Is that normal behaviour to tell myself that I have read the message I sent?

2) Does that nullify the e-mail confirmation from being sent when the actual recipient opens the PM?

Thanks!

Just an update to answer one of my own questions (number 2). All of the recipients that I sent a PM to have now viewed their messages. So for number 2, the answer is No, the first confirmation e-mail does not disable the real confirmation e-mail when the intended recipient views their PM.

The first issue is still outstanding. A read confirmation e-mail should not be sent back to the author of a PM when they view it in their own outbox. It's definitely confusing.

Thanks for looking into this, Bruce!

I have already fixed this with by changing the following line 131, in pm_show_message.asp:-

If CBool(rsPmMessage("Email_notify")) AND
rsPmMessage("Author_email") <> "" AND blnEmail AND
CBool(rsPmMessage("Read_Post")) = False AND Request.QueryString("M") <> "OB" Then

Thanks for pointing out the bug.
