Is there a way or a mod that would allow a registered user to be able to make changes to his/her own post, but not be able to delete them or someone else's post.  Other than giving them moderator rights??

Yes, just go in and change either the group permissions and/or the member permissions in the admin area.

You will be able to change whether members can:

  • Have access to the Forum
  • Start New Topics
  • Reply to Posts
  • Edit their own Posts
  • Delete their own posts
  • Sticky a Topic they posted
  • Create a Poll
  • Vote in a Poll
  • Upload Images
  • Attach Files
  • Moderate this Forum

You have full control of what people can and can't do by setting permissions either by group or individual.
