We are looking at setting up Web Wiz Forum, v7.01:

I can't quite figure out how to assign moderators to forums. For example, User A needs to be a moderator of Forum A, Forum D and Forum Q.  User B needs to be a moderator of Forum D and Forum N. So we need to be able to assign a single individual as a moderator to multiple forums and have multiple moderators for individual forums. It looks like a user can only be a member of 1 group, so I can't use that. On the Create Member Permissions for General Question Submission screen I can check off the box for Moderate Forum, but was confused by the text in the field label that mentions "Only enable this if you wish this User Group to be able to have moderator functions on this forum" - I want to do this for an individual not a User Group. Also, how do the rest of the permission settings on this screen relate to the Forum Details permissions?  Sorry if this rambled - wanted to give as much relevant background as possible.

 Thanks-

David

You can set-up individual members to be moderators regardless of their group by doing the following.  (This works in 7.01; It may be different in 7.5.)

  1. Got into the Admin Menu.
  2. Click on Member Permissions Administration.
  3. Pick the Forum you want someone to Moderate.
  4. Click on Create New Forum Permissions for Member.
  5. Type in or select his or her username and click next.
  6. Select what permissions you want that person to have.  One of the options is to allow them to moderate the forum.
  7. Click Create Member Permissions when done.

This will set the permissions for an individual member.  This is useful for assigning mods and also for giving someone access to a forum without changing their group.

Hope that helps.
