im experiencing a problem with a new user who hasnt logged in yet doing a post and it shows in the topic when you enter that topic. however it gives a date like 30 december 1899 but no message is seen and when you enter as administrator it says you have to permissions to reply but you can admin the post and delete it. is it that guest cannot post to the forum until there reg?
im using version 7.5 also you have a post on sending files from an older ms database to the new version how exactly do i import that data in to my new database? I do not know much about access! |

I don't understand exactly what you're saying...
About the date, probably your database is corrupted and there's something wrong on the date settings for the guest account... You might have to compact & repair the database (assuming it's access since you're talking about db file) and then open it up and fix the date setting fields for the guest account (2nd record on tblAuthor)... Just look at a fresh database and see how it's supposed to be... About importing the database if it's ms access there's an import wizard on access, if you want to merge 2 forum databases you can't, you would need to use a script for that, and if you just want to copy the database then just copy the file... If it's ms sql then use DTS... If you're wanting to UPGRADE a forums database then there's a script for that on the download section for access, and for sql somebody posted one before so just search the forum... ------------- FeRnAN http://www.danasoft.com/">

You cannot add or change a record because a related record is required in table 'tblAuthor'. /aq/forum/delete_member.asp, line 124 thats what i get for an error

strange i have to set permissions to registered users and not allow guests to post and i also have to delete a members posts before i can remove them from the forum otherwise i get those two errors any reason why?
