What do you think about my new live support system:

Basicaly you stick some code on your site, and visitors see something like, click here for live support, or live support is closed.  If its open they click it and can chat with operators logged in at the operator end.

Ive worked like a dog on it this week!  Its got loads of cool features you would want to find in any live support system:

  • Multiple operators
  • Rate operators
  • Request chats with site visitors
  • Non blink HTTP chatbox
  • Play sounds when new visitors wait
  • Auto popup chatbox when new visitor waits
  • View online operators
  • Private message system for operators
  • IP banning
  • Detailed site visitor statistics
  • Canned messages
  • Ability to popup websites (pushing) to visitors in chat
  • Ability to transfer to different operators
  • Works with Access/SQL Server database
  • SQL server version will have Operator standalone software
  • Detailed site statistics
  • Skinable
  • Multi language support
  • (Possibly in future) VON Support

If anyone has any suggestions it would be cool!

VON is voice over net, so basicaly in the future you will be able to have a phone call over the internet with an operator.

It is not easy to accomplish, might have to use something like java or SOAP. I am not sure if it would be possible to use http stream

You 'could' do it over http, but, it wouldn't be very good. Some kind of a client is needed and you still have to use audio codecs to shrink down the voice data. It's similar to another thread here about VOIP. VON isn't that much different.
