Recently, I encountered that my forum is becoming very slow. It happened twice already so I decided to contact my web host about it. My web host said that my site is is estabishing a very high number of connections to the MSSQL database between 50-80 simultaneous connections, and it does not appear to be closing them automatically. This is causing the tremendous slow down.

Is this logical/true? Thanks in advance

All database connections are closed.

This has bene checked and double checked many times in every file.

The only way you would have 50 to 80 simultaneous connections is if you have that number of people using your forum.

Generally slow downs are due to server overloads, on a shared server other users of the server can also course this to happen.
