I don't have frontpage ext. at my hosting. So I have to do manually with a ftp. Do I need to set permissions manually too? I mean is there something in vs that can do that or how you guys do this?

depends on your hosting...

with my hosting service, i create a user under the permissions, and then assign permissions to that user for certain folders. then i log in with an FTP program and upload files.

Yes, but I mean is, where can I see which folder need which kind of permissions. Like the bin folder is it only read or write or exe or both or it doesn't matter? Is there a checklist where I can look at? Yeah I know I'm not good in asking

the bin directory doesn't need any particular permissions.. besides, if it did, the page would tell you so when you tried to run the app for the first time

i am curious though, what kind of host do you have that offers ASP.NET web hosting w/o Front Page extensions???  that makes absolutely no sense
