I installed per the instructions, went to the site and the forum was there. I went to login as the administrator and I used the default password and I get an error like this

Microsoft JET Database Engine error '80004005'

Operation must use an updateable query.

/forum/common.asp, line 424

What am I doing wrong?

The error you're getting means that you need to give the anonymous user that the web server uses write permission to the Access database.
