When moving a post to a different forum, the counters
do not get updated from both the original forum and the
one the post moved to.

What happens if you resync it using the resync post counts tool in the admin area?

Aha! Would be nice if that function is called when something
is moved.

It is called when it is moved, but only works in the SQL server version as in the Access version, Access is slow to update being a flat file so unless a long delay is built into the pages it doesn't work on Access so you manually have to resync post counts.
