Please take a look at http://www.jea-inc.com/www/jeahome.html - http://www.jea-inc.com/www/jeahome.html . Look at the left side of the web site. There are pictures that change. Would you do that in Flash or Fireworks? Can you give me a good tutorial that shows you how to do this kind of thing to look at?

Please also take a look at http://www.crbusa.com - http://www.crbusa.com Look at the pictures that change on the right. They have text on them. Would you do that in Flash or Fireworks?

An easy way to determine if something is done in flash is to right-click on it.  It aught to display "About Macromedia Flash [5 or 6]" at the bottom of the menu.

After a simple tutorial in flash you aught to be able to do the images transitions that you want.

An excellent resource for flash tutorials is http://www.flashkit.com - FlashKit.com

you can do that in javascript and adding text to pictures can be done in any photo editor

I'm a fan of the least involved technology... and javascript fits the bill. But it also takes a lot more effort than Flash. However that being said, between 9% and 11% of users do not have javascript enabled... not sure about Flash stats - I don't know if I buy Macromedia's 99%+ stats...

Director is a bad choice - not a lot of people have it installed and it is a pretty big download.

But then GIFs are easy and cheesy...

Just my 2 cents...

Is there a way (with asp) to check if people has flash enabled?

Not with asp as it is a 'server side thing'.

You should be able to do it with Javascript though - do a search on Google for something like 'Javascript detect flash plugin'

This article explains Flash detection.  http://www.macromedia.com/support/flash/how/shock/javaplugs/javaplugs04.html - http://www.macromedia.com/support/flash/how/shock/javaplugs/javaplugs04.html
