First off, I hope I'm posting this under the right topic.

I am setting up a server to run one of my smaller sites off of.  I am using Windows XP Pro, IIS, MySQL, PHP extensions along with the Frontpage extensions, and Postnuke CMS.

I have gotten everything setup, as far as all extensions working, and the main SQL database created.  However, I get an "Error Connecting to Database" message when trying to access my site.

Can anyone lend a hand in this area?  The site can be viewed at http://68.113.122.20 - http://68.113.122.20 (sorry, don't have the DNS setup yet).

Thanks!

Maybe this is something you need to post on the postnuke site.

Generally if you are using a windows web server you will be better using ASP as PHP doesn't run as well on Windows as it does on Unix web servers.

php runs OK on Windows - my hoster hosts php sites on a windows server and nobody seems to complain so far - still, this is an asp forum so 99% of its users would be php clueless. If it is database connection problem, check the connection strings, check the right permissions of the db user a.s.o.

As far as PHP on Windows, we have been doing testing on this for quite some time.  No problems what-so-ever, except the usual OS crash.  MySQL is also very stable, without a problem either.

This problem originated with the Postnuke CMS.  Postnuke could not communicate with the MySQL server due to an problem with encoded info settings.

Thanks for the help anyway!

Is there a link maybe someone could drop me to learn more about ASP?  This will most likely be an upcoming project.

Thanks!

The problem is most likely the PHP error reporting setting, go to php.ini and adjust the settings, all code still runs but if you have it to show all errors, warning and god knows what else, it will show.

I used to run PHP on my IIS 5 with no problems, but since I upgraded to IIS 6, I scrapped PHP in favour of ASP/ASP.NET. For me PHP is just another layer for the server to process and I don't even use it.

NOTE: You should delete the install.php file, I was alble to run it and could've caused some damage to your site.
