http://www.oooarrr.cx:8888/forum/ - http://www.oooarrr.cx:8888/forum/ upgraded to 7.6 (just overwrote all but my old mdb file)

http://www.oooarrr.cx:8888/chewforum/ - http://www.oooarrr.cx:8888/chewforum/ same version as forum used to be.

both on same server in same directory tree using same aspupload component.

both used to work, now only the old version works.... i understand 7.6 is supposed to create directories named after the user posting, this doesn't happen and no errors are generated either to the user or in the 2000 event log.

using aspsmartupload v3.0 and all settings are as they were before.

any ideas/help would be appreciated

Make sure your setting are correct in the admin section, also make sure that you have the correct permissions on the upload directory.

You also never said what was the old version of the forum you were using?

i was using 7.01 and still am for the chewforum url (which still works fine)

the settings for the upload are still correct and i have tried reapplying them just incase something strange happened.

the uploads directory has full control access through explorer for the everyone group and i have even tried allowing write access through iis admin (which never had to be done in the past)

the directory was never deteled only the new asp files placed into existing directories so i don't see that the permissions should have changed at all.

i've even gone as far as rebooting the server incase iis had got itself in a muddle.

is there any debugging information that can be turned on or anything to see where it is getting stuck?

Try using a different upload component and check your settings again.

Unless IIS reports back an error if the application fails then there is no way of knowing what is going wrong and it must be uploading the file somewhere.

Try doing a file search to see if you can locate the uploaded file.
