It desn't exsit in the same way as version 6 but instead it has been replaced with a better system.

Anyone wanting (including modertors) to be informed of all posts in a particular forum just needs to clcik on the email notify link at the bottom of the page displaying the topic titles for that forum.

I've seen this, but how can a moderator manage each new Topic and each new message in a Forum ? He won't click on the email notify link at the bottom of EACH NEW TOPIC or POST !!!!!!

There should be a field :  "automatic E-Mail notification for moderators" at each forum creation/edit. Or you can use the Email_notify field in the tblConfiguration.

By this way, if the table tblpermission contains a record (i.e. a group that can moderate the selected forum) then an Email is sent to all the member of the moderator group that moderate that forum !

That's what i did. It works, you should implement this on your version.

One more thing, there is no Moderated Post? It is usefull if you want to display only posts that are Moderated = agreed by the moderator.

My situation : people post messages. Moderator(s) have to be inform of the new posts (or topics), then they should validate it (or not) (by clicking on a link on a mail or directly from the topic page). When the post is valid, it can be seen by the people ! If not nobody exept moderator & admin can see them!

Think about it and let me know!

Your WWF is really good, i won't take any others

No, read my post more carefully.

I'm not on about the link at the bottom of this page I'm on about the link on the page displaying all the topics for that forum, the one that says 'Watch this FORUM for new posts'

This is a better system as some moderators won't want 100's of email's so they can choose not to opt into this, whereas those moderators, or anyone else who does want to be notified of all NEW POSTS in that FORUM can click the link to be notified of new posts in that FORUM.

Ok i've seen know, but all the moderators should go on each forum then click on the link.

I think u should add a field (bellow) and in the tblPermission to automaticaly send post to the moderators of a forum.

User Group Permissions for Wine News

Moderator Group Permissions for Wine News
Forum Access New Topics Reply to Posts Edit Posts Delete Posts Sticky Topics Create Poll's Vote in Poll's Upload Images Attach Files Moderate this Forum

What if some moderators want email notification and others don't, this is what I find on this board. With your system individual moderators can not decide for themselves.

yes u are right !

My problem is that i need to set automatic email notification! because i create forum automaticaly from my product catalog (i write functions for that) = 1 forum for each product !

I can't ask moderator to check news forums and to click on the link.

I understant that my problem is special, and while talking with you, i change few line in your code and now it does what i wanted !

(your code is good to read & understand)

Thanx again

Problem solved!

;-)

I prefer to leave things like this for people to mod themselves and only include things that quite a few people ask for, this way it keeps performance higher, if I where to add everything then the forum would become cumbersome and slow. I'm gald that you found the code easy to modify to your own use.
