Is it even possible to install SQL on windows server web edition (2003)? I've tried installing sql server 2000, but the demo installshield simply doesn't run. When I try to run the setup exe it says the program has been disabled Now i did read somewhere that service pack 2 has to be installed for it to install. So I did and replaced the old files. Still the same result. Then I went to microsoft.com and searched millions of pages and didn't find anything usefull. Google results said something vague that even with service pack 2 it can't install on web edition. Will it install on Web? If so, how? |

You may not be able to install full SQL but you can install MSDE. I know this for a fact because the company I work for is a software company and our application uses MSDE, and we have had many customers install on web edition.
