Even Notepad includes a feature (control+G) which will take you to a specific line number.

It works for Notepad 5.0 Windows 2000, they must have removed it.

I have Win XP Pro, Notepad v5.1.

...and Ctrl+G works like a charm.

I have Win XP Pro, Notepad v5.1

Cntrl-G is disabled in my edit menu

BTW, Textpad is another good editor. Ultra Edit and Textpad both allow you to use color coded syntax for particular types of files - e.g. asp, php, html, etc.. Don't know about EditPlus.

Start - Run - Regedit - Hkey_Current_User - Software - Microsoft - Notepad.

In the right pane double click StatusBar and set its value to 1

That will enable you to see line numbers in Notepad.

(XP Pro anyway..)

That lets you see line numbers but is there anyway of enabling Ctrl + G?
