I speak Korean.

You can't register at that site. There's a really assanine reason too... The Korean government is extremely xenophobic in how they handle the "Korean" vs. "foreigner" distinction...

The first two inputs are for:

1) ID
2) Password

No problem so far... The next 2 inputs are where you get screwed:

3) Name
4) Citizen registration number (Social security number)

It is almost impossible to use a Korean website unless you are a Korean citizen. You don't have #4, and therefore cannot register.

When the Korean government pulls its head out of its butt and finally passes some legislation that will allow ecommerce inside of Korea for non-Koreans, Hell will freeze over.

When it comes to overblown redtape and general idiocy in government and bureaucracy, Korea puts the rest of the world to shame.

In short, don't try to do business in Korea, because even when you try to give them your money, they will make it impossible. (I can provide many examples for the skeptics out there.)

So Bluefrog, what are you doing in korea if it's so hard to make a buck or two there?

It's not about making a buck here.

It about trying to spend that buck here once you have it.

I have to go through hell to pay my ISP here because they are too stupid to take my money. I would spend more money online here, but I just can't. It's completely silly.

But in all fairness, I do have to give high-grades to a lot of the sites.

For example, Korean car rental and air plane booking sites are infinitely superior to the garbage sites in North America. I've tried to use some Canadian and American sites to look for cars or planes, and they make it impossibly difficult. I just gave up and went to Korean sites, which are much easier to use.

But that issue is about the user-friendliness of sites - not a bunch of neanderthal legislators.

[ Don't let my low-opinion of the Korean government deceive you - I have a very low-opinion of all governements. The only thing that makes one government different from another is in "how" their idiocy differs. ]

sorry i cant use babelfish since its blocked by the proxy in saudi arabia.. sh*t u ppl thought im soo dumb to not to know abt babel fish

well korea sounds more strict than saudi arabia in terms of many things buts that is not a scale to callibrate a respect for some country or its citizens.. each government has a freedom to make any kind of decision wether for or against..

Then why don't you go back to Korea if it's better??? I think they take much more away cuz you have much more than you had there! And I think you haven't gone back cuz here you live much better than you did there. But that's just my humble opinion, I'm sure you will deny it!

A fact is that Korea is I think 1st or 2nd worst dictatorship in the world when it comes to citizen's rights...

Let's get a couple things straight.

Hey, Bluefrog.  I'm Korean, too.

I'm not Korean. I'm human. Where I'm from and where my parents, grandparents, etc., are from has nothing to do with my identity or anything. I was born in Canada and have a Canadian passport. My identity is not tied to it or the passports that my grandparents had.

First, personal attacks aren't warranted.

That was a statement of fact. Not a value judgement. You only need to read the law or listen to the news here to check its veracity.

Thank-you for further proving my point.

What are you talking about? The requirement for a SSN # is primarily a security issue, but the way it is implemented simply doesn't work. It's about as effective as using a band-aid for cancer. Rudeness is not relevant to the issue.

-> overblown redtape and idiocy? As far as I know, this issue in other countries is the same level as ours. (I've lived in Japan, USA, Brazil. Currently I'm living in Canada.  So, I know their culture and social system.)

You obviously didn't read my other post:

Agreed that bandwith is much cheaper here, thankfully. The point I meant to make was that when someone tries to give you money and you refuse, that seems just plain stupid.

Here's one more personal opinion: If you want to jump on the personal attack band-wagon, have some ammunition to back it up.

Quote Go and learn Korean social system more.  I'm so ashamed of you.

You're probably thinking of North Korea. South Korea is nothing like the North.

The political is ok in this area. Arguing ideas is what it's about. Posting personal opinions about the character of other posters as jasmin has isn't ok. Of course that's just IMHO - lol

I prefer to relax my asshole in the morning after a sextuple strength blast of instant coffee and after a few cigs. Seems to lube the asshole well enough for a bit of splash at the porcelin throne, but not too much.   Works even better if dinner the night before included lots of hot peppers .

There's one 'extract' that is 7 million scovilles. Jalapenos are 1,500 ~ 3,000 scovilles...

It goes for about $100 for a small bottle. Complete insanity. I read a review, "It felt like the Devil pissed in my mouth."

I nearly died laughing~!  It still brings me to tears laughing when I think about it!

God... I can hardly breathe when I think about it... "the Devil pissed in my mouth." hahahahahaaha
