It would be great if userID or username that voted in a forum poll was saved. Then this could be cross checked to not allow more than one vote per person. Don't know if this is a good idea, but just wanted to throw it out there.

This has already been done as a mod.

For extra performance in a un-modded version of the forum only the user ID of the last person voting is stored so that the database isn't overloaded with loads of extra data.

For example if a 1000 people vote in a poll, you need to store 1000 user ID's relating to that poll, as you can imagine the database would slowly get bigger and bigger slowing the perfomance of the forum.

Couuld you have it so that after the poll is closed that the Admin can use a function in th Admin section to clear all that data out?

Kinda like the update post/topic count thing?

I see. Yes it would be a performance issue.
