I just upgraded from 6.29 to 7.6 using the migration tool and am experiencing the following error.

When one of my users tries to update his profile he gets the following error:

Microsoft VBScript runtime error '800a005e'

Invalid use of Null: 'Replace'

/cgi-bin/wwforum/functions/functions_filters.asp, line 395

So far, only this one user has complained about it.  I am able to modify his profile when loged in as an administrator, but I get that error when logged into his account.

Suggestions?

It could be a corrupted file, try reuploading the files again.

It could also be that a default value has not been entered into one of the database fields for this user. Try entering a value in all fields in his/her profile.

Fully agree with Borg about file corruption - The Migrator has served a great many Users ('000's ?) usually without problems. The one issue that has sometimes occurred is incomplete upload that a re-upload (of Forum files as well as DB) has fixed.

In your case, symptoms suggest a Repair/Compact of the new (v7.6) DB was not done prior to upload which it should have been. Perform a Repair/Compact before re-upload in any event.

I'm also curious why the Forum under a cgi-bin Folder - Hope that is not somehow spiking Borg's code.

Hope this helps

the forum was compacted before upload.

entering values in all the boxes and performing the character count appears to have solved the problem.  thanks borg.

its just in a cgi bin out of habit I suppose.  no reason.  not sure what spiking his code means...
