I think i just found a bug.

If you close your forum, update to the newest version with the Application variables, refresh so that the settings are stored, then try to reopen it, the Application variable is still set to OFF so you have to manuly change the Application variable to ON.

How exactly do you change it back to on?

I just put this on the top of the common.asp file:

Application("blnForumClosed") = false

You need to also update your common.asp file in the main forum if you haven't already and are updating your forum.

The update to the application level variable will only happen when the main common.asp file is run as a flag is set to tell the forum that an application level veriable has changed and the application level veraibles are to be reloaded.

So let me get this right, I just need to paste Application("blnForumClosed") = false in the top of common.asp? Does everyone need to do this?

No, this will make your forum run slower as you loos the advantage of using application level veriables and may as well keep using older versions as this will force the application variables to be updated everytime the common.asp file is run, thus no point in having application level variables.

Not sure what is worng with madDogs forum, maybe not all the pages updated correctly but this option should run OK.
