Subject: Suggest a good country/place to visit

I am 37 years old 38 in June this year and reside in the UK. The group I go walking with go on weekends each year over seas. The point!!, Well each 40th birthday we go to a place over sea that the birthday vicim has chosen. I am in debate with myself on this one to select somewhere I would like to go. I have been to Ibiza and think It would be a fun place to drag and enlighten the group to a party world they have never seen, but I do like the idea better of going to a snowy place. I have been to Canada, Germany, US, Amsterdam, Ibiza, Ireland and all over the UK.

The main selections I like so far are in the poll but if you can think of a place that I may like add your comments hear. Thank you for your help.

Come to Israel!

Visit the holy land and the holy city Jerusalem, see the old and new city after that take a cab to Haifa and see the Mediterranean see from the mountains of Haifa from there you can go to Ako and see where the crusaders failed in battle from there go visit the big city Tel-Aviv and from there to the dead sea to get cure for all of your disease after a while continue to Eilat the hot city with "tons" of hotels great sea and good food.

Well... are you coming?

You want snow? Come to the Rocky Mountains in Colorado, USA. I've gone skiing there almost every year since i was 7 and I love it.

...or, are you just wanting to "look" at the snow?

It’s funny but you don’t think that is if you are living in the UK of snow in the USA.

I like snow to look at, Ski and turn yellow after a good night on the bear LOL

Another one worth looking into Thankz.

Hehe, even LV had some snow. But an area I love close to where I am are the Great Smokey Mountains in NC and Tennessee, by far not as large as the Rockies but in spring one of the most beautiful places to be and you can even ski, just need to take the lift more often

I've been to the Rockies and the GSM in NC and they are beautiful.

For a 'no-snow' scenario:

Philippines, Cebu - Beautiful beaches
Malaysia - Beautiful and great fun shopping too
Thailand - Enough said
Singapore - More of a party place than outdoorsy place - the walking is mostly from one store to the next
Mexico / Caribbean - A thought

Personally, I'd like to go to my uncles place in the Rockies in BC - super quiet, blah blah blah

I hardly get out of South West England but the places I would like to go are:-

New Zealand
Canada
Peru
Tibet

As you've already done Canada I think you try New Zealand some of the landsacpe there looks ideal for treaking and you even get your snow.

Peru reminds me of Maccu Piccu. I mean, how many people do you know who have been to the "Lost City of the Gods"?

Have to do some altitude conditioning though.

Just to add to the list where I have been, Lasts year was Amsterdam and this has to be Prague. It sounds like I am blowing my own trumpet here (boasting) but I am not. I am just making a point, If your thinking about going just do it as tomorrow may be to late. I understand your situation being a student but when you get the chance or cash to go over waters and all over the UK, do it. You will never look back

I would prefer New Zealand over Australia, never been to both but I love the rugged landscape and everything somewhat close together. But thinking about it, one place I really would love to go this year is Tobago, friend has a beach house there and is still cheap I heard. (No snow there ever I guess )
