Does anyone have a detailed list of what is different in 7.7 from 7.6

Also migration strategy if you have a bunch of mods on 7.6

Thanks

Ya no problem

FYI,

not all the file names are correct, but they are pretty close to what they really are, so if you cant find the file in the History file try reordering the names of the files

Example in the history file it says "avatar_upload.asp", but should be "upload_avatars.asp" (there are a few files like this)

i got confused .. because some files mention more than once.. so does  that means we need to update it twice in different directories?
and some files mention once.. but I don't know which directories is the new file are for.. is it the /forum .. or the /forum/admin ....

if any one could clear this up.. that would be really great..

The simplest solution is to update all the files just leaving the database untoched. As there are also files that sometime I forget to mention have been updated in the version history file.

I wouldn't know as I did write any of the mods and haven't looked at any as I simply don't have the time.

I want to get on with writting new programs but these days 8 hours a day of my time is taken up anwsering support questions on this site, anwsering emails, and just keeping the site running, so there is no time left for anything else.

You are better of updating all the files in the admin area as the admin area has been re-written to use application variabes, also some new features in the admin area required that extra functions etc. need to be added to files.

1 research

i tried to get maddog's edit username mod work with v7.7. I noticed that the file size of the orignal register.asp of both v7.6 n 7.7 differs still the mods work

but will that do ??? wont it remove some features....????
