Plz help me, I closed my forum for maintenance while upgrading to 7.7 Now I can't log in by myself. Trying to login through the admin area using path /forum/admin/default.asp I'm being redirected to forum/default.asp taking me to /forum_closed.asp telling me that that the forums closed for maintenance... Where / how to do? |

If you can, download the database from the webserver and activate the forum directly from the db.
After that upload the db to the server. An other solution is to comment the close forum redirect line to the common.asp page. in this way you can login to the forum, unlock it and after that uncomment the line and update the page on the server.

If you Lock the Forums the entire board will be locked and anyone entering any part of the board will receive the message, 'Sorry, the forums are presently closed for maintenance'.

Weppos, Wait. in lock case, u can go to forum/admin/frame_set.asp or /admin and open it. u dont need 2 touch files if it doesnt work then bug |

In my sites generally I provide a database manager it's for so I remember you can un-lock directly editing db.

No. it works perfect 4 me. i locked it and then tried logon direct into admin folder i can reupload files |

didn't find the right place in the db... edited common.asp instead, thanks for your help I shall try to lock it again after a re-install and backup, i might have a mixture between 7.6 and 7.7 files |

Absolutely... u have a mixture.. sure or else for some reason it corrupted. i have 5 copies of the forum installed where i try mods and make mods etc ( atleast try)... i tried n it works with me p.s. dont forget to replace the common.asp with orignal one after u unlock it |

A database editor is a particula application, usually created in asp language (if it's for access db), that allow you to naturally edit and update the database. PhpMyAdmin for example is a mysql database manager. |

kiwi, you DA MAN simply great i needed this only.. my db is 10mb+++ now and on my dialup download it for 1 mod upload then again n again too hard... u wont believe 4 this i didnt install calender n whois mod yet today i will btw im getting 128kbps broadband tommorow |
