This is a problem with some versions of IE.

If you do a search on the forum there is a post with a solution to this problem and the code fix.

If you're using v6.3x it doesn't support file uploads, you can hotlink to an image but it has to be hosted on a web server, if you enter the physical path to the image in your pc it might show it cuz it's actually on your PC but others won't see it.

Ah I think we have your problem licked!

You say you get a script prompt asking for the location of your image?
This means you are using the wrong button to upload images, select the one with a little arrow on the image.

Also you first need to enable the upload functions from the admin area, then setup group permisisons on the forum to allow people to upload images or files.

hi! think i'm losing you guys.

i'm currently using version 6.34. i only see 3 icon that looks like image, one is the blue globe with a chain, one is a picture of a tree and the emoticons. don't see the one with the little arrow you mentioned.

as for configuring the upload function, under which category?

under the "Configure Forum", i've set the WYSISYG option to on.

all users and forum have the "read and write" access. i have assign all users to be "Standard Member", though i can't find where to assign what can "Standard Member" do...

kindly advise.

You have to have ver 7 to upload photos.

Permissions need to be set by your web hosting service. But you need to have ver 7 in order to upload photos
