Yes, I know it's been covered before and before and before....., but I'm thick, OK. I've followed the instructions to the letter and done as instructed as per troubleshooting "removed ' and changed 1033 to 2057 (UK)", then cleared out my cookie cache, but I'm still faced with CDate errors.

What am I doing wrong? I assume it's something I'm doing 'cos this works for other people.

Are you running your own server, or not. If not the language/or lcid may be different.

My site is hosted by One and One on an MS server. The rest of your reply is way over my head. I'm afraid I'm not all that technically minded.

This has been discussed before a few times with 1 and 1 servers, they always have this problem on most of their servers as they haven't worked out yet how to set the locale for the server properly yet!!

1 and 1 may look like a UK company, but they are a German company with their servers located in Germany.

This means that you need to set the LCID number to that of the German locale.

Thanks for that boys, it worked a treat. Now the next problem, , whenever I try to logi I get the following:
Microsoft JET Database Engine error '80004005'

Operation must use an updateable query.

/forums/common.asp, line 543

I've looked through the One and One help files, but there's no mention anywhere of this.
Any chance you could give me a clue?

This is a permisisons problem, the database needs to be in a directory that has write permisisons, contact one and one support.

Apparently I have read, write and execute permissions on all directories. Hope that makes more sense to you than it does to me.

If you are getting the error:-

Operation must use an updateable query

It means that you 100% don't have write permissons, but 1&1 support arn't great so it may take a while to get through to get this through to them.

You need to have write permissions so that you can update (write) to the database.

I hate One and One... I registered a domain with them because they are cheap. But its true when they say you paay for what you get, they don't even let you configure nameservers (the only way you can forward to your site is frames redirection).

Sorry i just had to let that out, i figured i wasn't recommending them so i'm not braking the no recommending other hosts then jodohost rule...

Thanks for all the help. I've finally got it sorted. Yes, I have full rights on all directories, but I need to set these. The default is read-only. One and One don't mention this anywhere, nor is there any mention of how to set this up in their help files. I had to seek help on a One and One bashing forum. Forums, eh. Think I'll start my own. Hmmmm.
