I now understand this is due to not having a mail server. i downloaded Jmail... and im trying to set it up but it needs an SMTP server. Is there any server you can recommend that i can just use my hotmail address for? or link it to outlook somehow? Many thanks.

The error means that you do not have the email component installed on the web server.

Just uploading a DLL will not register it on the server, registering DLL's is something the server admin has to do from the command prompt.

IIS, Microsofts web services come with an SMTP server that can be used.

If you are not running the server yourself then setting up email components is something you need to contact your web hosts about.
