At the new user screen the images for the security code number are not displaying...  I am just getting the red X.  Has anyone else experienced this problem?

I just downloaded the new 7.7 version and this appears to be my only problem so far.

It could be a number of problems that have been covered before.

It will probally be simpler for you to do a search of the forum.

I did a search but mostly found unanswered questions.  It does not seem to be cookies as I can set those with other scripts.

After copy/paste the path of the image supposed to be there, I received the following error:  Is this a problem with the code or the server itself?
====================================

Server object error 'ASP 0177 : 800401f3'

Server.CreateObject Failed

/forums/security_image.asp, line 76

Invalid class string

Some one else did have this same problem.

This means that you are on a server that has not been updated in a long, long, time and is using old database drivers. (you should have the latest drivers anyway, not just for the extra perfomance but the old drivers are insecure and could allow a remote hacker to gain control of the server (latest patch for this from MS this week))

You need to get the database drivers updated to the latest MDAC drivers. ( http://www.webwiz.net/web_wiz_forums/forum_specifications.asp - see min. specs for software )

If you run the server yourself you can download the latest MDAC drivers from www.microsoft.com/data

Thanks boRg...

I sent the web hosting company an email requesting they update the server for several reasons, I also included the link you gave me...

Is that the only work around for the problem?

Thanks!

Yes, I'm afraid it is.

If the server has not been updated in this amount of time then I would if I where you change to another web host as if they haven't updated the server, like it seems, your site may not be secure on the server.

Do you have any other inexpensive ($10-15 US/month) reliable hosting companies to recommend?  I have had no problems where I am now as far as downtime and reliability.

BTW...  They are currently running MDAC 2.5 SP3
