Is there any way to get transparent tables that work in other browsers beside IE (that is using the "filter:alpha(opacity:50);" style command)

I have a table and I want the background image to come through a little

Thanks

using CSS for transparency is never going to be compatible across all browsers.

Those filters are ie only. Try using a 50% transparent gif for the table background inage. this page leads to an example that uses css & div, but you'll get the idea.
