Hi all,

I'm having a discussion with my ISP... See, I'm having problems with my Access>MSSQL upgrade (see my other post: "Several problems").

Now, I'd like to give them some real proper feedback and would therefore like to hear from you guys concerning configuration of your SQL Server. I read a bit about disabling named pipes etc. but is there a step-by-step list of how it should be configured? Might help us solve the issues I'm having (timeout when posting).

Time outs are usaully coursed by over loaded servers or a site on the server using bad scripting or tresource intensive applications and using up all the servers resources.

Changing web hosts maybe a good option if they don't get to grips with it.

*ouch*

Earlier today I got a mail from support saying they disabled my SQL Server account for now, since my site was overloading the server thereby hanging all other sites hosted on that server

Since they put me in a position where I cannot trace whats going on I told them to go figure out what's wrong.

Overloading the server!!!!

SQL Server is designed to handle databases that are 1000's of Gig in size.

This site is currently using a 45Mb SQL server database and is using less than 5% processing power at max peak times.

Maybe they are using the desktop version of MS SQL server!!!!

Try looking for a new web host, you may want to also have a look at our own hosting http://www.webwiz.net/webhosting" rel="nofollow - www.webwiz.net/webhosting
