Apparently its a breach of copyright

I dont think there is anything they can do really. After all Mike Rowe can sue Microsoft for using part of his name in their name... How funny would that be..

Well he sure could not do that but all MS hatred aside, Domain name disputes are common and I can understand MS's position thus do not agree with the initial contact they made. They seem to agree that they have taken it to serious. If his website was not commerical there would have not been much they could do, like http://nissan.com/ - http://nissan.com/  for example.

This kind of pi$$es me off. I don't see any reason why someone should not be allowed to use their own name in a domain name. This entire copyright thing is going WAY too far. If Microsoft or Nissan really had a serious interest in this, they should have gotten off their lazy butts and bought the domain names.

What was it that Shakespeare wrote about killing all the lawyers first?

Oh, and things like "soft", "solutions", "productions", "~onic", etc. are common tags to the end of a name, and I don't see why that should be copyrightable either.

i think isn't it now goes under the rule of "First Come... First Serve"? and a company has to protect its name by registering all its TLD...

+ I'm sure if the registrar of this domain was here in Egypt, no one can dare charging him
