If you are wanting to run Web Wiz Forums, then neither of the plans would be any good as those databases are not supported.

It also looks like they could be Unix servers, again, Web Wiz forums, will not run on Unix/Apache/Linux.

Read the Forum Requirements page found in the left menu to get the server requiremenst for the forum software.

Web Wiz Forums will only run on Windows web servers running MS's IIS web services with ASP enabled. The databases supported are Access and MS SQL Server 2000, with MS SQL Server being the better database.

The cpanel wont work as because it doesnt support ASP.

About the Plesk, any wayout to convert the Access  db to those ones they support ?

One more thing,

Cpanel is UNIX no doubt abt it

In plesk, even if its unix, they say it runs ASP by whatever way they do. maybe chillisoft or whatever or may windows server.

So we have to think about plesk.

on that how to convert to the db they support ?
So the options left are

mySQL Unlimited - Yes
PostgreSQL No

So how to get it working with mysql ?

Sorry, no, not without re-writting almost every file in the forum.

Read the requirements page, as those hosting plans will NOT run Web Wiz Forums.

Web Wiz Forums will only run on Windows web servers running MS's IIS web services with ASP enabled. The databases supported are Access and MS SQL Server 2000, with MS SQL Server being the better database.

Web Wiz Forums will only run under Windows, with the IIS web server, which also only runs on Windows.

Even if other OS's and web servers support ASP, with thrid party software like ChilliSoft, web wiz forums will NOT run.

Let me write it in capitals and read slowly.

WEB WIZ FORUMS WILL NOT WORK WITH MYSQL.

A conversion tool will not work, the two hosting plans will NOT run Web Wiz Forums. You need to look else where for hosting or use a different forum package.

I am thinking of making a version of Web Wiz Forums that will work with mySQL, but as every file will need to be re-written and much of teh forum code changed and extra security added to cope with mySQL it will be along way off at present as it would probally take me around 100 to 200 hours to do it properly.

Just changing the database to mySQL will not work.

OK OK.

I will see if they have Access / MS SQL.

It won't be so easy to make wwf for mysql. along with the time, you need to upgrade it frequently, it would be very difficult.

If they don't give access, either change host or else convert to phpbb/ invision board BUT if i do so i will keep an option back to webwiz because when my old webhost is ok i will shift to them with access and webwiz
