I wonder if someone has windows 2003 here and a digital camera or any other device that should create a removable drive when connected to the usb port.

I recently bought a digital camera and have issues downloading images from it. It does list the camera as imaging device in the device manager, but it doesn't create a removable drive.

Does anyone know if 2003 server supports digital camera's?

hmmm....that could be simply an outdated driver issue though. Did you install the scanner software yourself or did win 2003 find it without the scanner driver disc in place?

The thing is windows 2003 installed the driver automatically and it does find the correct driver by itself.

it would be cool if a windows 2003 professional or workstation version was released..

I think it is only a matter of time until they release a new driver version...

It took 9 months till I got my TV card to work on windows XP.

I just bought a new mobile phone with a camera in it, and it connects to Windows 2003 Enterprise ok, well... as far as a piece of LG junk can anyways... But it doesn't show up as a removable device like USB flash ROM does.

I'm pretty sure that there's a service along the lines of removable USB devices or digital camera or something along those lines... open up the services panel and look for it

yeah, been through that as well.

I contacted Kodak support. Sadly enough they don't support windows 2003 and are not planning on releasing/developing drivers...so I guess I should buy a second pc with windows xp .

Got parts of my old server that I can use...joy...two pc's in my tiny 14 m2 room.

Sometimes u gotta love how these Microsoft OS systems are back wards compatible.

No reason why it shouldn't, try auto installing the drivers and do it yourself if that fails. The xp drivers should work just fine on 2003.

Contrary to a previous comment, multimedia does work with 2003, I have a webcam, camera, TV Card and several usb devices used for music.

All work without conflict.

yes there is a service called "USB mass storage ..." or something like that in windows which is disabled by default in windows 2003 as the windows 2003 guide says that all the unwated or generally unused services r disabled by default to improve performance and reduce risk..

ur camera or any device which is designed to show up as a usb storage in windows will not function until u dont enable this service.. this service should get enabled itself when u plus ur usb camera first time but with certain cams and devices it doest.. strange.. especially if the device is not plug and play and need installation of drivers

windows xp drivers would work ok with win2k3 in most cases but they r assured to work if they r digitally signed by ms for winxp
